BENEFITS OF TRADEMARK REGISTRATION
Trademarks are a crucial asset for any business. A company is recognized by its name, and protecting that name is akin to safeguarding the entire business.

Protection from Imitators
A registered trademark ensures that no one can copy your brand name, providing exclusive rights to your mark.

Valuable Asset for the Company
Many companies value their trademarks more than their physical assets. The true value of a brand comes from having complete ownership of the brand name through trademark protection.

Encourages Business Growth
Trademarks can be licensed, allowing you to earn royalty payments. Additionally, franchise models are based on trademark licensing and transfer.

Enhances Brand Image and Trust
Consumers tend to trust brands with a registered trademark, giving your business a more credible and professional image.

Trademark protection is obtained by filing an application with the Indian Trademark Registry.
The government fee for filing a trademark application is Rs. 4,500 per application, per class bases.
The process begins with a thorough trademark check, followed by signing an authority letter by the owner. Afterward, a consultant files the application with the trademark registry.
The trademark registry conducts an examination. If satisfied, the Trademark Office publishes the mark. Otherwise, it issues an examination report. The applicant needs to respond to the examination report within one month. Thereafter, the matter is set for a show-cause departmental hearing. Following this, the Trademark Office decides either to accept and publish or to reject the mark. If the mark is published, a four-month period is given to the general public to file an opposition petition. If no opposition is filed, the mark is registered.
